The Laboratory conducts research and educational activities in the field of Robotics and Intelligent Systems. The subject of "Robotics" is at the epicenter of the educational and research activity of the "Computer Architecture & Industrial Applications" Sector of the Department, while at the same time it is also the subject of the M.Sc. course in "Robotics" offered in the Department of Informatics, Computers and Telecommunications Engineering since October 2017, with the support of the above mentioned Sector. Additionally, the activities of the Laboratory and the internationally published work of its members also include the development and application of Intelligent Systems.
The scientific and research fields included in the activities of the Laboratory, indicatively and not exclusively, are:
- Design and Development of Robotic Systems
- Design and Development of intelligent Systems of Automatic Control
- The design and development of special purpose Embedded Systems.
- The design and development of Specialized Hardware (such as DSPs for Digital Signal Processing, SOC for integrated systems, Evolvable Hardware, etc.)
- The design and development of Robotic Vision applications.
- The design and development of Autonomous Robotic Vehicles.
- Development of Computational Intelligence Algorithms for implementing Intelligent Systems
- Design and Development of High Performance Processing Systems (FPGAs, GPUs)
- Design and Development of Intelligent Virtual Reality Systems, Graphics and Multimedia
- Design and Development of Intelligent Renewable ”Green” Energy Systems
